Plaid Boy and Girl Next Shore in Paris: Louvre Part 1 - "Donde es la Mona Lisa?"

The Louvre | Girl Next Shore
Started #bubbasinparis2014 Day 3 quite early to visit of my Top 5 favourite museums in the universe... The Louvre (but of course)!!! We took the entrance from Galerie du Carrousel via Rue di Rivoli to avoid massive queues. We only waited less than half an hour to get through security and to purchase tickets.
Tickets to the permanent collections are only 12€. We decided to buy the combined ticket worth 16€ so we could visit the temporary exhibitions too.

It was awesome to get in early as we were able to take the ambience and atmosphere in without getting rushed. We knew our leisurely pace won't last long so we went straight to the Denon wing see if good ol' Mona's grown her eyebrows yet.

No such luck with the eyebrows but we managed to take selfies before a huge wave of tourist groups appeared, arms and iPads raised ready to document Mona's becoming. My face got acquainted with a burly man's armpit so we decided to leave Mona in peace and check out her other buddies.

The paintings are extremely out of this world. Here are some of my favourites...

Art in the Denon wing is seriously as insane as the foot traffic. If you're a fan of the classics, then this is definitely heaven for you (no Impressionists here). We didn't realise how long we've been oohing and ahhing at paintings until our bellies started grumbling and figured it was almost noon. We've seen the whole wing through and we had two more to go!

I'm much more into antiquities, installations, and 3D art... so we headed off to the other floors and wings to check sculptures, trinkets and carvings.

To be continued...
