Lipstick Love: Mac Mineralize So Good & Elegant Accent

I have to admit, MAC may have a great colour range of lippies but the little tubes of lip gunk can be drying. I have to prep my lips before application, especially when I’m using the matte ones.
MAC Mineralize Rich

I’ve been meaning to get my hands on the Mineralize Rich lipstick range for a while but the hues I want are almost always out of stock or unavailable in the UK. They have “a 77-mineral moist complex” that’s meant to be lightweight, colour-rich, and most importantly, hydrating.

MAC Mineralize Rich
A Mineralize Rich lipstick is £5 more expensive than a normal MAC lipstick. It’s lightly bigger than a typical MAC bullet (.12oz vs .10oz) and the tip forms a slightly steeper slope which can take a bit of getting used to. The texture is creamy so it glides on application but this means it can also be quite unforgiving for dry lips (especially the lighter, brighter shades). Colour pay off is pretty good: rich, bright hues in just a few strokes. The finish has quite a shine, which makes you look like you’ve got lip gloss on. Pretty.

So Good – It looks more red on the tube than when applied. It’s a warm red that looks rather like bold berry on the lips. I do like the colour though – it almost looks like they hybrid of MAC All Fired Up and MAC Rebel.
Finish: Luminous
Application: Creamy and smooth, but much easier applied with a brush!
Retouch: Once

Elegant Accent – I wanted a coral colour and was initially drawn to Lady At Play, but this looked better on my skintone. A warmer coral with notes of pink which works fantastic as a MLBB shade. Very wearable on a daily basis.
Finish: Natural
Application: Creamy and smooth, but much easier applied with a brush!
Retouch: Once

Overall, I quite like them for staying true to the hydrating claim. My lips felt moisturised and the colours are long-wearing. Definitely something you’d look for in a lipstick during summer. I’m looking into grabbing a nice red shade soon. Watch this space.
