A few years ago, I fell a little bit in love with
Blair Eadie and her wardrobe. Like my ultimate woman crush Audrey Hepburn, she has a sense of style that’s quite sophisticated, timeless and classy. There’s an element of simplicity in her clothing pieces but she puts them all together impeccably, makingher outfits look fun and modern. And as Audrey’s Holly Golightly has her signature black dress and tiara, Blair has her Karen Walker sunnies and bright red lipstick.
Now, some of you may know I love
a good shade of red lippy. Blair’s signature shade, Stila Beso, has quite limited availability in London shops (I don’t really buy makeup/beauty products online if I haven’t tried them yet). One day, en route to a lunch date with Plaid Boy, I pulled him into Harvey Nicks to kill time. I headed straight to the
Stila counter to check if they had any but the sales assistant said they were out. Oh, well.
We were about to head out when the sales assistant caught up with us and said that actually, they had two tubes of Beso left. Yahoo! Plaid Boy must have been my lucky charm.
Beso: a gorgeous deep red with bluish undertones.
Finish: lightweight velvet matte.
Application: smooth and creamy with the doe-tip wand. At first I thought the wand was a bit too soft for precision but it glided like a pro making it easy for even application.
Retouch: absolutely zero. They weren’t lying when they said ‘stay all day’, and a little of it goes a long way! Even after a few nibbles, two full meals with heaps of hot and cold beverage in between, I didn’t see the need to re-apply at all.
Excuse the dry lips, I forgot to put lip-prettifying/moisturising balms before application. But at least you can see how it may sit on the lines of your lips. Although lightweight, it can get a bit drying so make sure you prep your lips first!
For £15 this tube of bright red lip gunk is so worth it. The ‘stay all day’ factor is such a game changer and the fact that it doesn’t budge is absolutely great for ladies on the go.
I said this elsewhere but I'm totally buying this lipstick come payday. What a gorgeous color! Thanks for the introduction to Atlantic Pacific too. Best, Jesse.
