SPArty bachelorette and Brasserie Zedel dinner

My Filo Supper Club girl friends threw my friend G and I a SPArty to celebrate our engagement and impending weddings.

They hired Spa London on Marshall Street exclusively for our group and we got to use the facilities for a good couple of hours. Spa London is a chain of award-winning treatment centres where you can enjoy various spa treatments at a very, very, very reasonable price. They have multiple locations around London with their biggest (and newly refurbished one) in Bethnal Green. You can check out their treatments and offers here.

The massage beds looked pretty comfy and it was nice to lounge around with girl friends from some chit chat.

We were also treated to some juice, wine, sassy water, chips, dips, crackers and fruit.

We also got to use the pool downstairs so we all went in for a dip and bonded in the steam room and sauna.

G and I!
We then had dinner at Brasserie Zedel. It’s been a while since I’ve been to Zedel but I could still remember how reasonably priced everything was despite the grandeur of the interiors. Definitely ideal for big groups. Check their menu on Zomato.

The creamy pumpkin soup was pretty tight. Was pleasantly surprised with this!

I’ve been missing Paris quite a lot so I felt it was only apt to get the escargot (£8.75)

The snails were cooked nicely although I wish the garlic butter and parsley sauce was a bit more seasoned. It lacked a bit of salt (which is probably good for the waistline!)

Most girls had the salmon with dijon creamed leeks (£13.25). I was surprised at how massive the salmon fillets were. It seemed like a hearty dish and the girls liked it.

After tossing and turning (as I always do with menus) I decided on the grilled onglet with shallot sauce (£14.95). I asked for it rare and was very happy with the cook.

This photo doesn’t do it any justice, but the cut was absolutely delicious in its rareness. Even the well-cooked parts were easy on the chew. The shallot sauce was flavourful enough to add an extra oomph but subtle enough to let the meat shine in its own glory.Overall, a really good relaxing night out with the girls. It felt like we all needed that after all that stress from wedding planning and work life. So grateful to my Maid of Honour, D, for organising this and for convincing me to have a bachelorette. Who needs strippers when you’ve got girlfriends and wine?

Looks like great fun! I'm glad that you liked Brasserie Zedel, I wasn't a big fan when I went.

Angie! I'd rate it average, but was very happy with how they cooked my steak! <3

I really like Zedel - it's such good value and though I've heard people haven't enjoyed it as much as I did I've always had a good meal there.

Agree with great value, although most dishes are hit and miss. x
