1) Autumn. I love everything about this season: the fashion, the weather, the food, the feels. Growing up in the Asian tropics (har har), October used to be dry and hot. Almost a decade in England made me appreciate the cold and the beauty that comes with it.
2) It’s the start of pumpkin season. I love the humble squash and its versatility. From soups to stews to salads and starters, this is one of my favourite things to eat and you can’t get it any fresher than this month.
3) It marks London Cocktail Week. A good excuse for a little bit of revelry in the city’s best and amazing cocktail joints. My favourite Lab is putting out a new, fun and exciting menu this month and you best not miss it! Get ready to drink up, London! Responsibly and moderately, of course!
4) London Restaurant Festival! For the whole month, you can experience the city’s dining scene at great value. Bookatable has some really good deals for the month so you can definitely load up on some amazing food for less than what you usually would pay for.
5) It’s my birthday month. I’m 31 in a few weeks! I also know at least one person celebrating his/her birthday every single day this month. Let the celebrations begin! Woot!
READING
Not reading anything in particularly at the moment, to be honest, other than quotes by @beautaplin and @rmdrk. If you have any super recommendations then please feel free to comment below!
WRITING
A full backlog of travel and food posts and a blog hop post as nominated by Andrea.
LISTENING
I’ve been listening to this tune since Summer and it’s still rather relevant. #stuckonrepeat
I’m a zombie
I don’t know what to do
I should be done in the place
But I gotta stay, stay stay
Stay, stay stay
Stay
I’m so lonely
I don’t know if I get through
I wanna be floating in space
But I gotta stay, stay stay
Stay, stay stay
Stay
THINKING
About the good in humanity. Germany taking in refugees. The Pope’s Year of Mercy. The UK lawyers’ Billable Hours campaign. There’s a lot of messed up things going around the world right now but I’m grateful for people who have massive hearts and massive sense.
SMELLING
Diptyque’s Do Son perfume oil. I’ve been told I have a “specific smell” three times the past few weeks. Thank God, it’s not BO! Haha!
WISHING
That everything will be okay and that October will be a kind month.
HOPING
That clarity comes sooner than later, for all of us.
WEARING
A top from Bangkok, boxers from Urban Outfitters and hotel slippers from St Pancras Renaissance Hotel.
LOVING
London. This city has been so good to me for the past 9 years and it’s such an amazing feeling to be able to call it my home.
Also, my new lip tools for Autumn!
WANTING
A really good birthday month.
NEEDING
To be able to spend awesome time with the most awesome people in London, to take in as much as I can from this city whilst I can.
FEELING
Excited to spend time with girlfriends this week. Can’t wait to see my friend C tomorrow, dinner with Lauren and Andrea on Wednesday, and having a pre-birthday dinner with my cousin D and other girlies.
